About Myself
My name is Angela Doucet and I am an acrylic artist and tattoo artist born, raised, and
living in beautiful Nova Scotia, Canada. I've been creating things in one form
or another all my life. In 2002, I started the A.D. Art Project, and began
marketing my work on eBay and in local shops. I also do several art and craft
markets per year, as well as attend and donate to a select few charity events.
As of 2010, I have sold over 900 paintings, prints, designs and sculptures in
four continents worldwide. Most of my business comes from commissioned pieces
and I can't wait to get started on more! Art is my life.
About a year and a half ago I began an apprenticeship to become a tattoo artist.
I currently design and paint out of my home, and I am tattooing at a great shop called
Adept Tattoos in Halifax, NS. My tattoo portfolio will be available on my website
shortly- check back often!
My Art
One of my favorite subjects to paint is an animal! I do personalized PET
PORTRAITS in my unique modern folk art style, or semi-realistic. The choice is
yours, although my folk art style does seem to be a client favorite!
My FOLK ART has been described as unique, brilliantly colorful, and playful.
It is a favorite for children's rooms, nuseries, cottages, kitchens, and
anywhere else an injection of vibrant color is needed. In 2004, a few pieces
were purchased by a television production company for use on the set of a
children's show based in Calgary, Alberta.
My ABSTRACTS have been used in many office settings, as well as private homes.
A few commercial clients include law offices, doctors' waiting areas and private
offices, real estate offices, and spas.
All of my artwork is created using top quality materials. My acrylic
paintings are done on gallery wrapped canvas (no staples on the sides)
and the edges are painted black so you can hang the painting right
out of the package! No need for a frame! All prints are limited editions
and are numbered and catalogued. Both prints and original paintings come
with a Certificate of Authenticity, signed, and dated with the catalogue
number.
My TATTOO DESIGNS are 100% custom, unique, and drawn specifically for YOU.
I don't reuse designs, and specially created pieces are not offered for sale
to anyone other than who it was designed for. They are clever, colorful, and in
every case so far- exactly what the client had in mind. I work carefully with your
ideas, often having two or three small conversations (mainly done via email) about
size, placement, color scheme, and overall design aspects before I even pick up
a pencil. This ensures I have a clear understanding of what you are looking for
and that you get what you want! You will get a detailed line drawing, or "template",
that your tattoo artist will use to create the stencil for your tattoo, as well as
a full colored version that he/she uses as a color guide.
I also do custom interior WALL MURALS; colorful and creative. I've done work in
daycares, tattoo shops, and private residences as well. They provide a unique
challenge, that I greet with open arms because hey- Who wouldn't want to paint
pictures on walls for a living!?
